Physical Education Curriculum Overview
- Concepts of Lifetime Fitness This course covers the basics of fitness, including various lifetime sports. Sports that are taught are horseshoes, bocce, golf, racquetball, volleyball, bowling, ultimate Frisbee, fasquetball, etc. The rules and etiquette are taught as well as the skills to produce a lifelong activity. Approximately sixty percent of the class time is spent outdoors, while the other forty percent is spent in the classroom.
- Health (semester) This course follows the Concepts of Lifetime Fitness class which students take their freshmen or sophomore years. During the first semester, the students will study mental, physical, and spiritual health along with a unit on Christian sexuality.
- Physical Fitness (semester) An activity-based program involving strength training, outdoor activities, and a variety of exercise program ideas.
