A Christ-centered environment equipping students for LIFE
The Beginnings of North Lutheran High School
The dream of a North Lutheran High School surfaced from time to time until the late 1990's. The Colorado Lutheran High School Association envisioned a growing Lutheran high school ministry in the metro area, and to assess the real support for expansion of the ministry, meetings of pastors, leaders, and others were held both in the north and the south metro areas. These meetings gave rise to Task Forces would did the groundwork necessary to ready the campuses for opening.
In November 1999 Gene A. Osborne and Equinox, the developers of Todd Creek Village west of Brighton, offered to donate up to 30 acres of land for a Lutheran high school and a Lutheran church and elementary school just south of the intersection of Highway 7 and Quebec Street in unincorporated Adams County, and the Colorado Lutheran High School Association gratefully accepted this wonderful offer.
In February 2000, the Colorado Lutheran High School Association voted to open both Lutheran High School of the Rockies and North Lutheran High School in temporary school sites. Marketing, fund raising, student recruitment, and staffing have challenged the committee to keep their focus and to rely on the Lord for guidance and strength.
