“Building Strong Foundations”
“Whoever hears my words…is like a man…building a
foundation on rock”
Luke
6:46-48
March 2006
As we build a foundation of
prayer for our schools, we thank you for your continued commitment to be a Prayer
Partner for the Colorado Lutheran High School Association and thank you for
being an integral part of this ministry. As we seek to continue to move forward
and build up this ministry to our children and the youth and families of our
communities, we feel that prayer is a vital key to all that we do, especially
as we continue to face growth challenges within our association. As we enter
into this Lenten season we are reminded once again of the great love that has
been shown to us through the death and resurrection of Jesus, the Lamb of God.
We are also reminded of the great privilege and opportunity we have in our
schools to proclaim and live out this good news with students and their
families. We need your prayers to keep this ministry strong and in place so
that we can take every opportunity God gives to us to proclaim the good news of
Jesus love!
Please remember these items
in your prayers for the month of March.
- Pray for the spiritual growth and development of
all our students, that they would integrate their faith and learning with
their everyday choices and actions. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in a
mighty way in our schools to transform the hearts and minds of our
students. Pray for our students to be a witness in our school communities
and in their neighborhoods, workplaces, and families.
- Pray for rest, renewal, protection and safe
travel for staff, students, and families during spring break, March 27
–April 2. Pray for continued energy, focus and stamina for our teachers,
administrators and support staff through these final months of the school
year.
- Pray for Loren Otte, principal of Lutheran High
School – Denver, as he considers a call to serve as principal at St.
John’s Lutheran School, Denver. Pray for the wisdom, discernment, and
guidance of the Holy Spirit for Loren and his family.
- Continue to pray for peace, comfort and
direction as we grieve the decision to temporarily suspended operations at
North Lutheran High School at the end of this school year. Pray for the
students, families and staff of NLHS. Pray that these families will be
able to continue the Christian education of their students through other
opportunities within our association or outside of our association. Pray
for the staff and faculty, that the Lord would provide for their future
needs and employment. Praise the Lord for six years of ministry that we
have had the privilege to do in this community and for all of the hard
work and dedication of administrators, staff, parents and volunteers.
- Continue
to pray for our association congregations and their leadership as they
consider our request for additional financial support over the next
two-and-a-half years. Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide and direct these
decisions this month in each congregation.
- Continue to pray for spiritual protection, wisdom,
discernment, and guidance for Randy Lowe and our Board of Directors as
they continue to explore and proactively pursue a strategic plan to
stabilize the financial health and well-being of our association. Pray for
the Lord’s provision and a clear direction of the best viable options to
pursue.
- Continue to pray for blessings on the
registration process at both campuses for next year. Pray that any
barriers or obstacles that may be in the way of a family sending a child
to one of our schools would be removed. Pray for an increase in student
enrollment and especially for strong freshman classes. Pray for clarity
and wisdom and discernment as we make enrollment projections for next year
and determine staffing needs.
